The Fabulous Fashion Stylist to the Stars, Laurie Graham, AKA The “Other” LG

I have to give the "other" LG some MAJOR props for taking me out power shopping the other day.  I have NEVER seen someone be able to work the shelves, deals and stores in the way that she does.  Everyone knew her wherever she went and she made my otherwise nightmare shopping experience, amazing, efficient and actually fun, because it felt more like "girl time".  I am the ULTIMATE tomboy and have never owned a pair of wedges in my life until last week when LG forced be to buy heels....and since then I have gotten so many compliments on my look and I just have to gush about what she does.  She...

Courtney and Jennifer’s Wellness Shoot in Venice Beach

Would you believe that these two gorgeous ladies are Holistic Nutrition Coaches?  Courtney and Jennifer are not only great friends, but they work together as well.  So it made total sense to do a shoot together.  I met Courtney on the soccer field and she not only in amazing shape, but she is one bad-ass soccer player:)  Her website is: www.HealthyMakeovers.com and I just wanted to share a few photos from our shoot (unretouched!) to show how stunning and natural they are.  So much fun ladies!

Alisha and Dipak’s Santa Barbara Zoo Engagement Shoot

I first met Alisha and Dipak while shooting Alisha's brother's wedding (Jason and Megan).  I had SO much fun with their family and I can't describe how excited I am to be photographing Alisha's now.  Although they are getting married a year from now, we decided to shoot their engagement portraits at the Santa Barbara Zoo.  One of the things that I love about my job is that I get to travel to cool, beautiful places that I ordinarily wouldn't take the time to visit, but am glad that I did.  The Santa Barbara Zoo is so quaint and picturesque and it is no wonder why they chose that spot...

JP and Maureen’s USD-themed Engagement Shoot

I am SO excited to shoot JP and Maureen's Wedding this July at USD and La Jolla.  I drove down to San Diego this weekend for some gorgeous weather and to photograph these two in their old stomping grounds.  Apparently, they both went to USD, but never knew each other until 2 years ago.  JP was even on the Tennis team there, so they decided to have their wedding ceremony at the stunning Immaculata on campus.  After shooting some fun pics at their rad high-rise apartment (and shooting some champagne:), we headed off to the train station and then to USD campus to check out where their wedding...

Mimi + Jacob = Baby Eli

You may remember Mimi and Jacob, the gorgeous bride and groom whose wedding I photographed at Gull's Way Estate last year.  Well, they have  since multiplied and I have been DYING to meet this gorgeous Baby Eli I have heard so much about and was so curious to see what he would look like.  He has Mimi's huge eyes, but Jacob's coloring and smile and he may be the cutest little chubby, cherub I have seen in a while.  Here are some of the pics from our shoot, which mainly consisted of Eli running around the room naked and me trying to catch a shot of him:)  Mimi and Jacob, It was so great seeing...

High School Beginner’s Photography Workshop with Laura Grier in Venice Beach

This Sunday I had my first beginner's photography workshop where I had my students focusing on Composition and searching for and finding good natural light. I had them running around the chaos of Venice Beach on a Sunday trying to find and photograph examples of these different examples of composition: Foreground, middle ground, background Patterns or repetition Rules of Thirds (not centered all the time) Color/contrast Intimate Portrait Silhouette Isolating a moment Motion with focal point Dead Space Landscape with size reference Perspective/Lines leading you in Framing your subject I...

Dave Robinson and sweet little Jane

I have known Dave Robinson for years, not only has he been my attorney, but also a friend and a client.  I have had the privilege of photographing his daughter Jane when she was a little baby and yesterday I got to meet her again, now years later as a young 4-year-old going on 24-year-old lol.  She was listening to direction, asking me about my lenses and equipment and questioning my choices of locations for the shoot and even offering suggestions:)  Dave, you are going to be in BIG trouble someday!  I LOVE watching children grow up through my lens and I hope to continue to document her life...

Lareina and Collin’s Venice Beach Engagement Shoot

OK, these two are ridiculously funny and I was laughing the entire time I was shooting them.  We started off hanging out at my place; Collin having a beer and Lareina getting her make-up done by the fabulous Tara Dowburd-Luftman with Make Up Therapy, then we were off to run around Venice Beach and find some cool walls and graffiti.  Collin proved to be the best spotter of locations (pointing out new murals that even I hadn't noticed before and I LIVE there! lol).  The whole time Lareina was yelling out to strangers on the street, "We are SO in LOVE", because yes, for most people snuggling up against...

Motoko and Mitsuhiro’s Wayfarers Chapel Wedding

Motoko and Mitsuhiro (AKA Ann and Andy) are such a cute couple.  They are shy, yet complete hilarious and we just laughed the whole time...especially with me trying to communicate when most people only spoke Japanese:) We had such a relaxing day at the gorgeous Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes AND perfect weather (thank god, because it poured rain the next day). They had their cocktail hour at the Viceroy Hotel, one of my FAVORITE places, and they rented a cabana outside by the pool. The cabana and pool area were decorated by simple, yet elegant flower arrangements by SubRosa Florals. I couldn't...
