Kurt & Andy’s Fabulous Engagement Session in Atlanta, Georgia
So, I first met Andy and Kurt about three years ago in Eleuthera Bahamas while shooting a destination wedding and doing a post bridal shoot with one of my childhood best friends and fellow destination photographer, Ronda Gregorio. We all spent about ten days together with what turned out to be what I like to refer to as the “Survivor-themed wedding”! Check out my previous blog post about it to see more!
We were forever bonded after that experience, so when a couple of years later Kurt and Andy got engaged , I was super excited and honored to be chosen to capture their engagement memories along side my favorite partner in crime, Ronda. We both flew into Atlanta for this adventurous, ambitious 2 day shoot that took us on the ultimate grand tour of the city. We decided to check out the Atlanta Botanical Gardens during our first day of scouting but went prepared to shoot. Good thing we had our equipment because the weather was perfect so we took advantage and got a bunch of great shots. We were also determined to find a great view of the city skyline so we stopped by the ” W Hotel” to see if we could scope out and get permission to shoot from their helipad. They took us up for the most incredible view of the city!! We did find another great view off of a bridge which was the final location our first day of scouting and shooting. On day 2 we were able to bring out the Ramblin Reck of Georgia Tech which very few people have the privilege of using for engagement photos. Fortunately Andy Mcneil was the elected driver for the 2001 season which gave him alumni rights to use the vehicle. Driving around in the reck was so fun and one of the highlights of the trip! When we were done with the reck, we took a short beak with the pups and then went trekking around the city where we found some great artwork and a moody tunnel. We were determined to get that final epic skyline shot of the day on the rooftop of the America’s Mart building where Kurt and Andy have their fashion showroom La Belle Vie. The sky opened up and started pouring rain. But nothing can stop Ronda and I when we are determined to get THE shot! In the pouring rain, we managed to together pull off one of the most epic skyline shots EVER. Thank you so much for having us to Atlanta Kurt and Andy, what an adventure!!
