I had THE BEST time with Gabriela and Charlie on their wedding day and it was so much fun to work with the fabulous Lori Yohe AND to be working in our own neighborhood in Manhattan Beach. The Belamar Hotel is one of my favorite local hotels, because it is a small, funky boutique hotel and the rooms have this gorgeous blue color and the outdoor patio and huge tree with twinkle lights always gives a romantic, yet intimate atmosphere for the reception. I LOVE that they can dance and have their reception both indoors and outdoors.
Gabi and Charlie first had their ceremony at the famous glass chapel, Wayfarers Chapel, in Rancho Palos Verdes. We started there and had a perfect sunny day, and then we drove a few miles away to their favorite beach spot in Redondo where they live and that thick marine layer rolled in…Our weather is SO strange here, but I LOVE that dreamy feeling to the photos that the marine layer gives and I felt it gave the photos that romantic feeling that I felt when I saw these two. It is so clear to me that they are so in love and have such supportive wonderful friends and family. At one point, I was hanging out in the ladies room chatting away with Gabi and some of her Czech family members and I felt like one of the guests. I heard Gabi say over and over how she never imagined her wedding day would be this much fun and that she didn’t want it to end. That made me smile! That is the whole point, to NOT get stressed and enjoy life’s rare moments when you can get everyone you love into one room to celebrate the BEST reason of all, LOVE.
